#2 Coaching demonstration – the difference between ACC and PCC competencies

Brigitte Calvert – PCC

Last week in our Coaching Café we were delighted to bring you another opportunity to learn from a coaching demonstration.  By listening to another coaching demonstration by Brigitte, we build on the foundations that we have been exploring over the past few weeks. Importantly, we hear the ICF Core Competencies come to life.

This week for the Coaching Café, we as debrief the recording through the lens of the ICF Core Competencies and in particular the difference between ACC and PCC coaching.  Importantly, this is a coaching demonstration that will open your eyes to what it really means to stretch your coaching skills from Level 1 ACC coaching to the higher levels. In addition, helps us reflect on what difference the stretch makes to your client.

The difference between ACC and PCC

For each of the elements above we hear the difference between ACC and high PCC or beyond.  We discuss strong coaching that at the ACC Level where the coach would hear the goal and then step through the extended GROW model, as we present in our coaching programs.  The big difference is how Brigitte evokes awareness with questions that are curious and explore ‘beyond the current thinking’.  In addition, how she evokes the reframe from the client.
